Alright. First things first, bring up archive viewer. Go to your directory and open up pc0.arc.

Tons of options. You want “effects”

This is a list of just about every visual effect in the game. For the purpose of this Mod, we will be picking two of them.

Scroll to the “e”s. You’re looking for a list of Explosion_variable items.

Pick out “Explosion_triggered_mine” and save it somewhere (like the desktop)

Now scroll down to the “S” area and pick out space_rocket_explode.bin. Save it to the same place. And convert both to .xmls.

Now, open space_rocket_explode in notepad. You will see, somewhere in there, this line.

      Quote:
      fx_f304_rocket_01

Every explosion file in the game has some form of FX call like the above. In explosion_triggered_mine, its

      Quote:
      fx_exp_c4_01

Now, replace the line in the triggered mine file with the explosion from the space rocket. Save it, .bin it, and drop it in dropzone.

When you fire up the game, this is what will be waiting for you.

Thanks for teaching me this! I created a Triggered Bomb mod using the explosion from the Mile High Club bomb with the shockwave (HUGE). It’s in the mod downloads of this site.

Does it change the damage or just what it looks like?

Just the appearance. Weapons.bin has most of the actual variables, and I think weapon_upgrades in the settings area has the rest.

However, in all practical reality all you need to do is make your best guess as to the size of the explosion and modify the explosives range. I got bored and gave a rocket launcher a 100 whatever explosive radius and blew up a town with five rockets once.

Sadly, this was before I could make the FX match the destruction.

a guy in the mod section found a nuke-ish explosion, but not the nuke.

It does not seem to be in the same form as other effect files..

Becouse it is just the explosion from, when you kill baby panay.

      It looks fucking great xD

That’s the rocket explosion, not the actual nuke. The nuke file seems to be a different format from the other effects in the game. The explosion pictured there is the effect used when you disarm the rockets in mid air and they explode into pieces and send shrapnel everywhere.
